Latest News!!

The 2007 Racing Season has officially started! Keep checking back for updates on racing results.

Hi, my name is Scott Wilshire and thank you for taking the time and visiting SMW Racing! As with anything, there are always many reasons for things that happen and many stories to tell about how we got where we are today. I won't go back that far but I will tell you a little about SMW Racing. We are a family based racing team that calls home in Falconer, New York and is headed up by Scott & Mary Wilshire and two little pit crew guys Waylon & Christian Wilshire We started racing years ago with a Chevrolet Nova we bought and turned it from a grocery getter into a 1/4 mile pavement pounder laying down ET's in 9.20 range on stock suspension. After several years of bracket racing at area tracks covering Ohio, New York and Pennsylvania we decided to take the racing to the next level and by doing so we knew it meant we were about to take a big step. I knew where I wanted to be and that was behind the wheel of a dragster, from when I was just a young kid I've always dreamed of driving one and with the help of several people they have made that dream come true, we will be competing in the IHRA Top Dragster Class where cars can easily top the 220MPH mark! 2006 was a wonderful season and we are planing on the same for 2007 so come along with us and enjoy the ride!

THE DRAGSTER

RaceTech Race Cars out of Burlington, North Carolina built the car and is home to a 540" Craiger Racing Engine big block Chevrolet engine. The transmission is a Powerglide setup by Kevin at R&R Racing Transmissions in Olean, New York. The rear tires are Hoosier 33.5x17x16 Slicks on 16x16 Centerline Convo Pros, up front are Hoosier 22x2.5x17 Front Runners on 17x2 Weld Alumastars.
